TAFI Chiang Mai, Thailand Convention

“Breaking Barriers – Believe 2 Achieve”

TAFI Continues with its focus on Far East with its convention at Chiang Mai in 2009 after a convention in Singapore in 2005 and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia in 2007 with support from Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Chiang Mai is a city in mountainous northern Thailand, some 700 kms from Bangkok. It is the principal city in the northern Thailand and famously known as the “The Rose of North”. Founded in 1296, it was capital of the independent Lanna Kingdom until 1558. Its Old City area still retains vestiges of walls and moats from its history as a cultural and religious center. It’s also home to hundreds of elaborate Buddhist temples, including 14th-century Wat Phra Singh and 15th-century Wat Chedi Luang, adorned with carved serpents.

TAFI Chiang Mai Convention also witnessed the Abacus TAFI Awards II. Accommodation for delegates was arranged at Shangri La and Le Meridien Chiang Mai, with Shangri La being the main convention venue.
