TAFI J&K Chapter Hosts 3rd Bi-Monthly Meeting Featuring AI Masterclass & Felicitation Ceremony

The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), J&K Chapter successfully conducted its 3rd Bi-Monthly Meeting on 16th April 2026 at Hotel Palm Spring, Srinagar, witnessing an overwhelming response and full-house attendance from members and industry stakeholders.

The meeting was followed by a series of insightful knowledge sessions and presentations, marking a significant milestone for the Chapter. For the first time, Asego Global Insurance, GRN Connect, and renowned AI expert Mr. Aman Kaushik delivered engaging presentations, including a highly impactful AI Masterclass tailored for travel professionals. The session highlighted the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in the travel and tourism sector and was widely appreciated by all attendees.

The highlight of the event was a grand felicitation ceremony honoring distinguished personalities and contributors to the tourism and travel fraternity.

Honoring Former Chairmen's

The Chapter paid tribute to its former Chairmen of J&K Chapter for their visionary leadership, guidance, and unwavering support in shaping the organization’s journey:

Mr. Manzoor Pakhtoon – Founder Chairman

Mr. Shamim Shah – Immediate Past Chairman who now serves as National Managing Committee Member

Their invaluable contributions were acknowledged as instrumental in strengthening the foundation of the Chapter.

Torch Bearer Awards – Senior Industry Veterans

In recognition of their long-standing association and dedication, the “Torch Bearer Award” was conferred upon:

Mr. Mohd Akram Siah – TAFI Member since 2001

Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Qari – TAFI Member since 2017

Their enduring commitment to the industry was deeply appreciated.

Special Honour – Veteran of J&K Tourism

A special recognition was bestowed upon Mr. Nasir Shah for his remarkable 48 years of service to the tourism industry. Widely regarded as a strong voice of the trade, his continued guidance remains invaluable to the fraternity.

Industry Contributors Recognised

Mr. Faiz A. Bakshi was honoured with the title of “Green Ambassador of Kashmir” for his outstanding efforts in environmental conservation and enhancing the valley’s green cover through plantation initiatives.

Mrs. Abroo Ratta of Honeygold was felicitated for her exemplary contribution spanning over two decades and was conferred the title of “First Woman Entrepreneur of the Kashmir Tourism Industry".

The Chapter also acknowledged the continued support of its partners:

* IndiGo and Air India were felicitated for their contribution to the travel trade.

* Asego Global Insurance.

* GRN Connect.

* Mr. Aman Kaushik

Were honoured for their valuable presentations and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

As a special gesture, AI Masterclass participation certificates were distributed to non-TAFI members, encouraging broader industry engagement and the adoption of emerging technologies.

The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks, followed by an interactive networking session over a traditional Wazwan dinner. The event reflected the Chapter’s commitment to knowledge sharing, industry collaboration, and recognition of excellence within the tourism fraternity.

The TAFI J&K Chapter continues to take progressive steps toward empowering its members and strengthening the tourism ecosystem, ensuring the industry not only grows but evolves with changing times.
